Center for Health Services Research
Georgia State University
Welcome to the Georgia Center for Health Services Research at the
J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.
Established in 1999, the Center and its Research Associates are
dedicated to scholarly inquiry into generic, industry-wide health
services research issues and problems so as to contribute to the
body of knowledge on current issues of health services and management.
Current activities of the Center focus on health issues that improve
the practice of health care, ensures quality delivery of health
services, and healthier communities.
Our vision is to be recognized as a leading research center in
health services research. To enhance program effectiveness, the
activities of the Center leverages the considerable academic, technological,
and industry resources and linkages to the J. Mack Robinson College
of Business, the University, as well as the Internet and distance
learning. Research at the Center cultivates strong regional, national,
and international industry relationships and meaningful alliances.
Research is conducted by full time and adjunct faculty of the University
supported by multiple funding sources. Research may be funded through
both sponsored and non-sponsored projects with strategic plans for
substantial endowments and contributions from health systems, hospitals,
HMOs, pharmaceutical companies, health information systems organizations,
associations, consulting companies, and a host of other health care
organizations.
To fulfill our mission, we are engaged in a number of research
and educational initiatives. Currently our activities focus on seeking
to achieve excellence in health services research in the general
areas of health services administration, health information systems,
quality of care, medical practice management, and evaluation of
health care programs. With your support and interest, we believe
we can make a significant impact in advancing health services research
and, ultimately, the health of our communities.
