Dean's Letter

Welcome to the Center for Health Services Research web site! The 21st century has arrived, and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business is being recognized increasingly as a leader in business education and research. Our part-time MBA program is the only one in the Southeast named to the top ten nationally by U.S. News & World Report, and has been for the past five years. Additionally, our Executive MBA Program is listed as one of the "leading 20" EMBA programs in the nation by Business Week magazine. A number of our departments are also nationally ranked among the very best, including Risk Management and Insurance, Computer Information Systems, Marketing, Finance and Management.

The Robinson College of Business has a strong tradition of undertaking research to support the industry and business leaders of Atlanta and the Southeast. Faculty of our College and more specifically, the Institute of Health Administration, are skilled in their ability to undertake seminal research in their areas of expertise and transfer that knowledge to issues confronting private organizations, businesses, and government. In conjunction with well-known researchers in health services, the Center has a strong and impressive background of research projects completed in the past. Their current list of research projects is equally impressive.

Our proximity to some of the nation's largest and most successful companies, such as iXL Enterprises, Home Depot, Scientific-Atlanta, Coca-Cola, BellSouth, UPS, Lucent Technologies, Equifax, Total System Services and MindSpring Enterprises, also provides many opportunities for our faculty to undertake research in a robust and dynamic business environment.

Our city is a dynamic laboratory for gaining hands-on business experience. Atlanta continues to be a national leader in job growth, increasingly in the high tech sector. And we consistently rank near the top among the best cities in the United States in which to start a business. Research from the Center and the College is a key and integral reason why Robinson Business is among the best business schools in the country.

I invite you to explore the Center web site and learn about the Center's many competitive advantages.
